A Sekimori-ishi is a stone traditionally placed in a tea garden or roji, serving as a subtle sign that respectfully asks visitors not to proceed beyond that point.

Resonating with this uniquely Japanese sensibility of quietly conveying intention through a stone, Ikeda-san has created this work as an expression of the impressions she has received from nature.

In everyday life, it can be appreciated as an object that enhances an interior space. Of course, it may also be used as a sekimori-ishi in a garden setting.

As each piece is handmade, there may be individual variations in size, shape, glaze application, and color. The actual product may differ slightly from the photographs.
