This piece is crafted entirely by Ren Nakane himself, including the jute rope woven by hand to form the seat.

It is precisely because of its pared-back simplicity that Ren Nakane’s philosophy and approach to making are so clearly expressed. The contrasting qualities of aluminum and jute bring out the best in each other, giving the piece the presence of an art object while still offering a remarkable sense of comfort. Its form has been carefully considered so that it naturally conforms to the body when you sit down.

Its slightly compact size makes it especially well suited as a dining chair or as a convenient seat in the entryway.
